The jigsaw
A 500-piece puzzle designed by Camille Walala in collaboration with Migrate Art. 100% of profits are donated to Breaking Barriers.
A partnership between Breaking Barriers and Migrate Art
Migrate Art believes art can transform the world. Since 2016, they have raised over £1.6 million by collaborating with renowned artists to support displaced and marginalised communities. Through auctions, editions, and creative partnerships, they turn powerful stories into funding for charities working directly with refugees.
At Breaking Barriers, we help refugees overcome the challenges they face in finding work in the UK – from learning a new language to understanding the job market. We provide English language tuition, one-to-one job search support, help with professional re-accreditation, and connections with businesses for advice, mentoring, and employment opportunities.
When Migrate Art approached us, they had already taken time to understand our work. We share a belief that people who have been forced to flee their homes deserve more than survival; they deserve the chance to build independent, dignified lives through meaningful employment.
Through this partnership, there are two ways to support our work: buy the Camille Walala jigsaw, with 100% of profits donated to Breaking Barriers, or buy a limited edition print by one of four other celebrated artists. Every purchase and every sale helps refugees across the UK take the next step towards employment, education, and hope.
Two creative projects. One shared goal: helping refugees find meaningful employment.

Rachel Whiteread created 'House' using broken crayons and pencils collected from the site of the Calais Jungle, once home to 10,000 refugees, after it was demolished.
Sarah Ball's 'Megascops stangaie' is a photopolymer gravure etching originally painted using ash collected from burnt areas of the Amazon rainforest.
'Ashes from Ashes' is a striking set of monochrome screen prints made using Amazon ash. It connects material, place and the environmental forces that shape our world.
When Migrate Art's founder visited refugee camps in Iraqi Kurdistan, he found a region devastated by fire. 'It Depends on What Direction You Look In' was originally created using ash from the scorched Kurdish land.
