At Breaking Barriers, we understand the challenges refugees face when returning to their professional careers. Our Re-accreditation support programme is designed to help refugees with international qualifications gain the necessary certifications to work in their chosen fields in the UK.
Who is this programme for?
This programme is for refugees in the UK who have:
- International qualifications and work experience in a professional field
- A strong desire to continue working in their trained profession
Please note that this programme is not to upskill or further a refugees education, it is only to return to work in your professional field at the same level.
How it works
Our support is tailored around you and can include:
- Professional assessment: We evaluate your qualifications and career aspirations to create a tailored plan of how you can return to your profession
- Guidance and support: Our team helps you understand the re-accreditation process in the UK
- Funding support: Breaking Barriers provides access to funding for exams, training courses, learning materials and other resources. This can be scholarships, grants and referrals to RefuAid’s interest-free loan

- We can get in touch with your profession’s professional body should you encounter any issues
