We support refugees over the age of 18 years old to find meaningful employment in Birmingham, Glasgow, Greater Manchester, Liverpool and London. Our support includes tailored one-to-one employment advice and guidance, education and training. Find out more about the support we can offer. 

Who we support

Age

Individuals aged 18 and older.

Locations

Birmingham, Glasgow, Greater Manchester, Liverpool, and London.

Immigration Status

We support those with the following statuses from the UK or another EU country:

  • Refugee status
  • Discretionary leave to remain
  • Humanitarian protection
  • Residency in the UK or another EU country (previously met criteria)
  • In the UK on a family reunion visa with a person meeting the criteria
  • Asylum seekers with the right to work
  • Survivors of human trafficking with the right to work
  • Individuals from Hong Kong with British National (Overseas) visas

Language Level

To ensure that we can provide the best support, we require people to have at least a basic level of English (ESOL Entry 1) before being referred to our services. If you’re currently at a pre-beginner or pre-ESOL Entry 1 level, don’t worry! Work on your English skills, and come back to us when you’re ready.

Waiting Times

Due to high demand, there is a waiting list, and the current time to the first appointment is approximately 6-8 weeks.

Birmingham, Glasgow, Greater Manchester, Liverpool

Referrals for employment support are accepted. Once the form is submitted, individuals will be placed on a waiting list, and we will contact them to schedule the first appointment as soon as possible.

Unemployed = not working; Economically inactive = not required to seek work by DWP; Employed = working

Note: English for work (Employability English) is our language support, designed to help you develop English language skills that will increase your confidence for working in the UK.
