We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved in supporting and raising money for Breaking Barriers through the 2.6 Challenge, to ensure we can continue to be there for our clients who need our support.

The 2.6 Challenge was set up to mark the London Marathon, which was due to take place on Sunday 26th April. The Marathon is the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event, raising £66.4 million for charities in 2019. The UK’s mass participation event industry came together to create the 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign to Save the UK’s Charities.

We loved seeing you all set-up your fundraisers and completing your 2.6 challenges for Breaking Barriers. Your involvement and support so far has helped raise over £5,000 to support refugees.

We’re more determined than ever to be there for our clients and make sure that we can support them to fulfil their goals and find work which matches their skills and aspirations.Take a look at some of the 2.6 challenges set-up by our incredible supporters.

Juliet’s Challenge

Our incredible Ambassador Juliet Stevenson set up a 2.6 challenge to use her talents as a force for good by recording bespoke voice messages for donations of £26 or £100. Juliet is an incredible supporter and friend of Breaking Barriers and her 2.6 Challenge has raised an incredible £3,300 for the work we do to help refugees in London who need our support.

Check out this video of Emily, our Philanthropy Manager, who decided to take on a #26challenge by having 26 buckets of water chucked over her head. Emily has raised an incredible £501 for Breaking Barriers and took one for the BB team.
