My question is: What can employers do to help refugees succeed at work (particularly for new hires)?
Make sure they have access to help in improving their language skills so they’re not held back, and provide a supportive working environment that recognises that the challenges refugees face don’t all stop when they arrive in a place of safety.
Make sure that the people they are working with understand the value they bring with them. Give them a chance to talk to their colleagues about their professional experience. Show them that that their experience and expertise are valued
